About me
Hi, I'm Victoria. I'm a multi-discipline Senior Designer with over 16 years of experience across digital, visual and brand design. Mainly for retail, tech and service businesses.
My freelance clients range from small start-ups launching their new ventures to established companies needing extra design support for their digital, brand and marketing campaigns.
In my last permanent role, I was employed as Senior Digital Designer in the Creative and Branding team at Ocado. I worked across a variety of projects and teams, from design and art direction for marketing comms and seasonal campaigns, to more recently with the brand, marketing and UX teams across Europe, leading a digital brand update to bring visual consistency and better accessibility to the Ocado brand across all of its digital touchpoints.
My background
Surrounded by art and creativity from a young age, I knew I wanted to pursue a creative career. My grandfather was a photographer, my Dad an Interior Designer, my mum is a Ceramicist and crafter, and my older sister is an Artist and Illustrator.
I left school at 16 to study a GNVQ foundation course and A-level at Art & Design College, which is where I began to learn the creative skills I build upon every day. Although I loved the traditional mediums and processes of art and design, digital design was just taking off so I decided to continue my education at a higher level where I could explore the digital side of design and media. I graduated from Southampton Solent University with a BA Hons (2:1) in Multimedia Design.
Lifelong learning
I believe in investing time in personal development through skills-based training, especially in the fast-moving world of digital technology. I've recently been upskilling in UX with online courses.
I have a positive mindset with a genuine interest in business, entrepreneurship and start-ups. I love helping people, especially women in business and technology, to follow their dreams and take a leap into the unknown. I love thinking up ideas, pushing the boundaries and experimenting while learning new tech skills.
On a personal level
I live in a village in leafy Hertfordshire (just outside NW London) with my partner and two children. I keep myself fit with strength training, walking and Havana Salsa. I enjoy family time with days out exploring, epic bike rides, scratch-cooking healthy meals and movie nights with the kids.
I love music - anything with a good beat, play the piano and enjoy music festivals and camping near the beach during the summer months. I love being near the sea, it's so peaceful and relaxing!!
I'm into anything design, creative and tech focused. I love fashion, textiles, interiors and photography. I'll hunt through vintage and charity shops for inspiration!
